She received her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish at Indiana University. She had the pleasure of studying abroad in Spain in 2001-02 and graduated from IU in 2003. Beth dedicated her life to helping others. She used her degree in Spanish to help the Spanish speaking community in Hamilton County, OH by working as a social worker at St. Raphael’s. She helped many under privileged families receive the assistance they needed and went above and beyond by driving them to appointments and giving of her own money.
Beth decided to move to New York in 2006 and enrolled in a Teaching Fellowship Program at Lahman College. She taught at West Side Alternative School in Harlem, New York. While at West Side, she taught English as a second language and Spanish. Beth started a newspaper at West Side using her own money to get the newspaper printed for the students. She took great pride in her work at West Side, pouring her heart into her daily interactions with the troubled teens. Beth earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Lahman College in December, 2010.
Beth moved back to Cincinnati, OH in 2011. Beth began teaching Spanish at Riverview East School in Cincinnati Public School System. In 2012, Beth gave birth to Journey Elizabeth who was instantly the love of her life. She leaves behind a beautiful treasure for us to hold dear to our hearts. Journey gave her much pride and joy.
Beth is sorely missed by many. Please join us in celebrating Beth’s life on Tuesday and Wednesday. To help her daughter Journey, to always remember her mommy, we are asking that you write down your favorite memory or story about Beth and place it in a basket at the visitation.
