The Washington Nationals completed a three-game weekend series sweep with a 7-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds in DC in a game heard yesterday on WRBI. Brady Singer (5-11) was tagged with the loss. He gave up five hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out three over six innings. The Reds could muster only four hits on the afternoon, and scored six runs on 16 hits the entire series. They have the day off before continuing the road trip with the first of three tomorrow night in Chicago against the American League Central-leading White Sox. Nick Lodolo is set to come off the Injured List and start tomorrow night for the Reds. Airtime is 7:10 on 103.9 FM.

Pitcher Chase Petty was optioned by the Reds over the weekend to Triple-A Louisville after righthanded pitcher Ron Marinaccio (mair-uh-NAH-chee-oh) reported to the active roster. Marinaccio was claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates last Thursday.

Alex Palou drove closer to his record-tying fourth consecutive NTT IndyCar series championship and fifth overall title with his victory yesterday in the Grand Prix of Portland. It’s Palou’s sixth trip to victory lane season and the 25th of his career.
