Tim Stephen Wilkerson, 53, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Tim was born in Quantico, Virginia on March 22, 1970, to Pamela Kay Wilkerson and the late Robert Keith Wilkerson. Tim attended Brookville High School and Whitewater Career Center with a focus on welding trades. He soon joined the workforce at Valley Welding in Harrison, Ohio where he spent 11 years as a fabricator/welder. Tim served as a volunteer firefighter with the New Trenton Volunteer Fire Department at just the age of 16 and continued to serve his community for the following ten years where he created many lifelong friendships. Beginning in the winter of 1995, Tim began his passion for law enforcement by doing ride-along at the Laurel Police Department and shortly thereafter became a reserve police officer. He quickly learned that being in the back seat of a police cruiser with a cage and both doors closed does not usually end well. In 1998, he transitioned to Assistant Town Marshall, attended the ILEA Town Marshal Basic Training Session 200353, and served until 2003. In the Spring of 2000, Tim began their apprenticeship with Cincinnati Ironworkers Union Local 372 where he became a journeyman ironworker and foreman on several projects within the tri-state including the Freedom Center, Great American Ball Park, and Belterra Casino.
In December 2003, his desire for police work earned him a full-time position with the Brookville Police Department and shortly thereafter attended the ILEA Basic Session 158. In 2014, he was sworn in as Brookville Police Department’s Chief of Police where he served until December 2017. In May 2018, Tim became employed with Owens Corning in Brookville, Indiana. Along with sending massive amounts of TikTok, he enjoyed being given the title of “Certified Fork Lift Operator” by his three daughters. No matter what you called him; Wilkerson, Wilkie, 24-26, Daddy, Pap, Uncle Turkey, Kaboose, Easy Money, Barney, Tooth, Dickie Doo, or my ex-husband, he was loved by all!
Tim was a member of the Warthogs MC since 2020 where he served as the Vice-President of the Hoosier Chapter. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #77, Brookville Harmony Masonic Lodge #11, and a lifetime member of the Brookville VFW Post 2014.
Tim is survived by and shared three daughters with Kate Baldwin; Taylor Makenzie Bankson (Eric) of Greenville, Ohio, Kinley Reese Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Ellie Kalyn Wilkerson of Plainfield, Indiana; cherished grandson, Colt Bankson; mother, Pamela Kay Wilkerson (Phil Bruce) of New Trenton, Indiana; siblings, Mike Wilkerson (Shannon) of Okeana, Ohio, Lisa Morgan (Brian) of New Trenton, Indiana, Cindy Mann (Jimmy) of Richmond, Indiana; Gary Wilkerson of Marion, Indiana, Michael Wilkerson (Laura) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rick Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Indiana and many other loving relatives and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Robert Keith Wilkerson, and grandson, Levi Roy Bankson. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 29 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home in Brookville, Indiana with Rev. David Heinzelman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 28 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
