Ms. Laura Rose Riga

Ms. Laura Rose Riga, age 84, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 18, 1939 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and New Castle, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late, Henry C. and Lonie Jane (Fortenberry) Riga. Laura owned and operated Health Works Massage in White Pigeon, Michigan for 14 years. She was employed at Jako Trucking for 15 years. She volunteered for the Switzerland County Visitors Center and worked at the front desk for the Switzerland County YMCA. Laura enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, and baking. Laura was a member of the Red Hot Hatters Association in Vevay, Indiana. She was also a member of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, Indiana. Laura passed away at 3:31 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Laura will be missed by her sons, Michael “Mike” Cox of Vevay, IN and Clifford “Cliff” Cox of Elkhart, IN; her daughter, Lori Cox of Patriot, IN; her grandchildren, Tanner, Dackery, Jaymae, Skylor, Zaxton, Anakin and Alex; her 9-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tony Riga and his wife, Ruth of WV and her niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Lonie Jane (Fortenberry) Riga; her granddaughter, Tristan Shae Cox; her brother, Leon Riga and her sister, Camilla “Joyce” (Riga) Stanley.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, by Deacon Mike Boggs, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
