(Aurora, IN) – Dr. Ronald Ross has been hired as the new Superintendent of the South Dearborn Community School Corporation (SDCSC).
He is replacing current Superintendent Eric Lows, who announced his resignation in December after six years in the position.
Ross comes to South Dearborn from Edinburgh Community Schools where he has served as Superintendent since 2021.
Prior to Edinburgh, he was the emotional and behavioral learning coordinator, English language learner coordinator, and GCJHS dean of students for Greenfield Central School Corporation.
He began his career in education as a high school teacher and coach, first at Union City High School, and then at Richmond High School.
Ross first moved into an administrative role as the assistant principal of Burris Laboratory School in Muncie, and then as the assistant principal at Northeastern Wayne Schools in Fountain City.
He then went on to serve as the principal of Union County Middle School in Liberty.
Ross and his wife have expressed a great fondness for Aurora and surrounding Southeastern Indiana and are excited to move into the South Dearborn Community and be a part of all it has to offer.
“I am honored to serve as the superintendent of the South Dearborn Community School Corporation. This is a dream job for me!,” Ross said. “My family and I are looking forward to relocating to the area and learning about all of the great things happening in our schools and community. I am grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to get started!”
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ross as the new leader of our District. Dr. Ross’ energy and passion for education are contagious. The SDCSC Board Members are eager to begin working with Dr. Ross moving the District forward”, said Scott Willoughby, South Dearborn School Board President.
Ross will take over as SD Superintendent on July 1.
