(Greensburg, IN) – Iron Men Properties and the City of Greensburg will break ground on a new multifamily downtown apartment complex on Wednesday, June 3 at 2 p.m.

The 88-unit complex called Ironwood will be built on the site of the former Decatur County Jail at 200 S. Broadway St.

“We are excited to become part of the Greensburg community,” said Joe Blake, co-owner of Iron Men Properties. “Our mission is to uplift communities through high-quality housing developments that create long-term impact. Throughout Indiana, we’ve focused on transforming underutilized and blighted downtown spaces into vibrant residential communities, and we’re proud to partner with Greensburg on a project that will contribute to the city’s continued growth and revitalization.”

Iron Men Properties says it is focused on development specifically in county seats across Indiana.

Examples of their recent residential development projects include sites in Delphi, Lebanon, and Frankfort.

Company officials say the name Ironwood is inspired by both Iron Men Properties and Greensburg’s identity as “Tree City,” home to the nationally recognized Courthouse Tower Tree.

Iron Men Properties will maintain 100% ownership of the property through its management company, Teays Valley Property Management.

“Housing availability remains one of the most important factors in supporting long-term community and workforce growth across Indiana,” said Nassif Kouton of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “Projects like Ironwood represent the kind of strategic public-private partnership that helps communities like Greensburg attract investment, support local employers and create vibrant places for people to live and work.”

This project will use READI grant funding.

It’s expected to be completed by the summer of 2027.
