Robert (Bob) D. Chalk

Robert (Bob) D. Chalk, of Aurora, was born on December 5, 1942 in Milan, Indiana the son of William Howard and Viola Horton Chalk.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Bob married Carrol Taylor on November 16, 1976 in Rising Sun and together they had seven children.  He was a truck driver for Hill-Rom and was active in his spare time in many organizations – as a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, the Sunman American Legion, the Sunman Masonic Lodge, the Shawnee Valley Dulcimer Society, and as a charter member and EMT for the Manchester Life Squad and Volunteer Fire Department.  On Monday, April 2, 2018 at the age of 75, Bob passed away at his residence.

Those surviving, who will cherish Bob’s memory, include his loving wife of 43 years, Carrol Chalk; daughter, Bobbi Jean (Ken) Tucker of Florida, daughter, Vicki (Tim) Moulder of Kentucky, daughter, Lannette (Rob) Love of Indiana, son, Robert (Tammy) Chalk, Jr. of Florida, son, William Christopher Chalk of Nevada, daughter, Deedee (Gerald) Brown of Rising Sun, and son, Richard Cochran of Indiana; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Gabbard and Judith (Tom) Ahaus, both of Sunman, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis Howard Chalk, David Leon Chalk, and Norman Chalk, and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Cochran.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5 until 8p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Funeral services will be on Friday at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Andy Striet officiating.  Burial with full military honors provided by the Sunman American Legion Kenneth L. Diver Post #337 will follow in Craven Cemetery, Milan.
