Shirley Louise Phillips, 84, of Columbus, passed away on August 13, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1942, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Glenn and Vera (Eckel) Hooten. Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Greensburg High School. She married Charles K. Phillips, Sr. on September 8, 1964. Shirley owned Phillips Fudge at the Little Nashville Opera. She was a member of the Burney Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband- Charles Phillips, Sr.; children, Bert Affolder, Jr., Becky Sue Sexton and Charles K. Phillips, Jr.; sisters, Sharon (Mike) Justus and Helen (Bill) Hampton; brother, Glenny (Diane) Hooten; grandchildren, Casey, Stacy, Corey, Raymond, Brenna and Charles; 8 Great Grandchildren; nieces, Michelle, Belinda, Kelly, Glenda, Vera, Sabrina, and Tabatha. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm.
