Earl Franklin Carpenter, age 87, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Batesville, Indiana. He was born the son of John and Rose (Kirby) Carpenter on February 1, 1937, in London, Kentucky.
Earl married Carol Hiler on March 30, 1996, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Earl worked for Irvin Paper Company in Lockland and was a bus driver for the Winton Woods School District and was loved by all the students who knew him. He also was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carol Carpenter, his three children, Kathy (Jacob) Forbeck, Susan (Mike) Silver, and Chris (Brigid) Bennett, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Walker, Pauline, Sally, Don, and Wendel.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Carpenter and his siblings, Denver, Salie, Tom, Glen, Ruby, and Beulah.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Joe Hart officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
