The Baltimore Orioles shut out the Reds 3-0 in the series opener in downtown Cincinnati as heard last night on WRBI. The Orioles scored once in the 1st inning and two more in the 3rd. Both teams collected four hits a piece on the night. The Reds stranded 10 runners and were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Brady Singer pitched five innings and allowed three runs (two earned), three hits and five walks with six strikeouts and was tagged with the loss. The middle game of the series is tonight. Hunter Greene makes his season debut after coming off the Injured List. He’ll be opposed by Orioles righthander Brandon Young (6-2, 3.11 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:40 on 103.9 FM.

The Reds placed third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes on a rehab assignment at Single-A Dayton. He’s been on the shelf since May 21 with a bulging disc in his back.

The Indiana Fever return to the court tomorrow night after a week off when they visit the Las Vegas Aces. Tipoff in Sin City is at 7 p.m.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio this weekend for tomorrow’s Honda Indy 200. Scott Dixon is the defending champ. The green flag drops shortly before 1:00 tomorrow.
