Genesis Receives State Grant

(Indianapolis, IN) – Governor Mike Braun has announced over $750,000 in matching grants to the state’s small business economy.

The funding, distributed through the state’s Community Collaboration Fund, will support 22 regionally driven projects across the state.

Locally, Genesis: Pathways to Success was awarded $40,000 for Ignite SEI: Fuel the Small Business Spark.

Genesis will leverage grant funding to host Ignite SEI, a regional small business conference for entrepreneurs and business owners across Southeastern Indiana, to provide a forum to learn, connect and collaborate. Programming and sessions will be designed to support the region’s rural and small-town businesses.

“Making Indiana the very best place to start, build and grow a business is a driving force of my administration,” said Gov. Braun. “These grants will support programs identified by communities as critical to the growth and success of their entrepreneurial and small business economies, supporting long-term job creation and wage growth. Thanks to the commitment and creativity of our regions, these programs will help founders and leaders bring new ideas to life, implement new technologies and future-proof their businesses.”

The initiatives focus on entrepreneurial education, small business acceleration, and tech enablement, including artificial intelligence tools and business transition planning.

Officials say the grants will leverage over 1.1 million dollars in total investment, ultimately serving more than 6,000 current and aspiring Hoosier entrepreneurs.
