Timothy Robert Cutcher

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy Robert Cutcher, a devoted husband, father, and distinguished attorney, who left this world on July 3, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late: Benjamin and Marian (nee Weaver) Cutcher, Timothy spent his life making a profound impact on those around him, both in his personal and professional endeavors.

Timothy, a proud alumnus of Ohio State University, served his country in the U.S. Army before earning his law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1974. He dedicated over 50 years to the practice of law, initially working under Hank Sheldon and later establishing his own practice, Timothy R. Cutcher Attorney at Law. Throughout his career, he offered his expertise to the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office and trained numerous aspiring attorneys in Cincinnati. Known as a formidable adversary in the courtroom, he was equally celebrated for his kindness and camaraderie outside of it.

A passionate supporter of Ohio State athletics, Tim cherished his time as a manager for the Ohio State basketball team during its Final Four season. Being a manager had made a lasting impact on his life. His unwavering enthusiasm for Ohio State football led him to attend three national championship games, further solidifying his status as a true Buckeye at heart. Tim shared his love for sports with his family, coaching basketball, softball, and baseball for his children, and teaching the art of golf. His commitment to fostering community spirit was evident when he founded the Recreational Association in Mariemont and actively participated in the Mariemont Boosters.

In 1994, Tim married Karen Hoog, creating a partnership that thrived on love and mutual support. He moved to Cedar Grove area with Karen and became involved in his community, serving on the County Mental Health Board in Indiana and the Franklin County Softball Board. His generous spirit and dedication to helping others extended beyond family and friends, as he often selflessly supported those in need, believing in the power of kindness to uplift lives.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife Karen Hoog; children: Jeffrey Cutcher, Michael (Janine) Cutcher, Bradford (Courtney) Cutcher and Meghann (Lukasz) Pluta; cherished grandchildren: Sarah, Austin, Tyler, Ainsley, Reghan and Colin; siblings: Dan Cutcher and Richard (Hatice) Cutcher and nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his memory.
