Batesville girls golf is heading to the IHSAA finals after finishing second at Saturday’s Regional at Franklin’s Legends Golf Club. As a team, the Bulldogs shot a 323. Senior Ava South took home the individual Regional championship with an even par 72. Host Franklin came in first (318) while Floyd Central as a team finished third (332). East Central as a team came in 13th with Greensburg right behind at 14. Trojan senior Rowan Pies advanced to the state finals as an individual golfer by firing a 73.

Oldenburg Academy varsity volleyball was the runner-up at the Hope Heritage Days Classic at Hauser on Saturday. The Twisters defeated Waldron, Brown County, and South Dearborn before falling to Greensburg in the championship game.

Batesville volleyball won the Greenfield-Central Tournament over the weekend. The Bulldogs knocked off Warren Central, Covenant Christian, Lapel and the host Cougars to bring home the title. BHS’s Reesa Zimmerman, Anya Richey and Maddie Haskamp were named to the All-Tourney Team.

Two local volleyball  teams are in the top 10 of their classes. Greensburg is ranked #5 out of 99 Class 3A schools with a record of 21-1. OA is 8th among 109 1A teams.

North Decatur Jr. High 8th grade volleyball defeated Morristown in two sets (25-10, 25-14) Saturday morning at the Mid-Hoosier Conference Tournament. The Chargers fell to Hauser in the championship match in two sets (25-24, 25-24). North Decatur ends the season at 9-5.

Oldenburg boys soccer played Class 3A Richmond to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at The Graveyard. The Twisters’ lone goal came early in the match when Connor Holder took a through-kick from goalkeeper Ryan Hautman into the 18 for the  score.

OA girls soccer defeated Greenfield Central 5-nil.  Twister Claire Niese scored her 100th career goal in the match.

East Central girls cross country won won their race while the Trojan boys placed second at Saturday’s tri-meet at Connersville that also included Rushville. EC’s Abe Hiltz cracked the top 10 in the boys race with an eighth place finish. East Central claimed the top four spots in the girls race.

The Cincinnati Reds are heading back to the postseason for the first time since 2020 and the first in a full season since 2013. Cincinnati fell to the Brewers in Milwaukee 4-2 in the regular season finale heard yesterday on WRBI, but clinched the third and final National League Wild Card berth when the Miami Marlins blanked the New York Mets 4-0. The Reds open the best-of-three Wild Card round in Los Angeles against the NL West champion Dodgers tomorrow night. Coverage begins at 8:38 tomorrow night on 103.9 FM.

The Los Angeles Rams got past the Indianapolis Colts 27-20 yesterday on the West Coast. The Colts taste defeat for the first time this year and fall to 3-1.

The Cincinnati Bengals are in Denver tonight against the Broncos for Monday Night Football. Kickoff is at 8:15.

The Indiana Fever staved off elimination in the WNBA Playoffs by downing the Las Vegas Aces 90-83 in Game 4 of the Semifinals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 25 points, but teammate Aliyah Boston went off for a double-double: 24 points and 14 rebounds. The fifth and deciding game of the series is tomorrow night in Las Vegas.
