Larry Pete Vance

Larry Pete Vance passed away peacefully on the morning of June 28th at Mercy Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio. He was 84 years old.

Pete was born in Seymour, Indiana on December 25th, 1941. He was one of eight children born to Arthur and Estelle Vance. He was a 1960 graduate of Seymour High School. On January 22nd, 1962 he married his first wife, Judy Sage Vance. She survives in Milan, Indiana. He married his second wife, Dawn Billman on September 7th, 2012. She preceded him in death.

Pete worked at Cummins Engine Company for many years and eventually retired from Excel Manufacturing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs. He took pride in his meticulously manicured yard and loved to brag about the many variety of flowers he planted. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Ann Vance, his second wife, his parents and his brothers (Don, Jack, Bob, Ronnie) and his sister (Rita Parker.) He is survived by his first wife and his children: Jennifer (Susan Grover) Vance of Silver Spring, MD., John (Lori) Vance of Moores Hill, IN and Joe (Lindsey) Vance of Lawrenceburg, IN. His surviving siblings: Janet (Marty) Rose and Pam (Mike) Lauster. He had three grandsons: Donald (Erin) Fahey, Richie (Heather) Fahey and Greyson Vance. He also had two great-grandchildren: Nolan and June Fahey.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 2801 East County Rd 820 South in Millhousen, Indiana. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.
