Gladys “Charlene” (Harsin) Rowlett, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on May 24, 1950 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Charles Harsin and Dorothy B. (Hammond) McClurg. Charlene was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1968 graduate of the Vevay High School. Charlene was united in marriage to Dennis Rowlett in 1969 and this union was blessed with three sons. Charlene was a former employee for Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana. Charlene was a former school bus driver for many years working for the Switzerland County School Corporation. She helped farm and milk cows and was later employed as a driver for Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Florence, Indiana. She loved her dog, Peanut and enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, sewing, woodworking, and gardening. Charlene passed away at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Charlene is survived by her sons, Chad Rowlett and his wife, Jennifer of Louisville, KY, Jeffery Rowlett of Martinsville, IN and Tim Rowlett and his wife, Angela of Martinsville, IN; her grandson, Landon Rowlett; her brothers and sisters, Kenny McClurg and his wife, Jenny of Vevay, IN, Kathleen McClurg Scudder Nail of Indianapolis, IN, Tharsilla Jo Dunn and her husband, Art of Madison, IN, Rita Keith and her husband, Darrell of Bennington, IN, Donna Chervanaks and her husband, Paul of Louisville, KY, Rick Harsin of Vevay, IN and Mark Harsin and his wife, Jill of Vevay, IN and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Harsin; her mother, Dorothy B. (Hammond) McClurg; her grandson, Tyler Rowlett; her infant-sister, Linda Jean Harsin and her brother, Eddie Harsin.
