State Supreme Court to hear emergency powers case in April

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — It will be April before the Indiana Supreme Court hears arguments over the Governor’s emergency powers.

The court said yesterday that it will hear a challenge to the new state law that limits some of what Eric Holcomb and succeeding Governors can do in an emergency situation.

The legislature approved the law in the spring and have been at odds with the Governor ever since.

Lawmakers say they want to have a say in how the Governor manages state resources during an emergency, such as a pandemic.
