IU removes vaccination card verification, still requires COVID-19 shots

Bloomington, IN — Students and faculty at Indiana University will not be required to prove they got the COVID-19 vaccine before returning to campus in the fall, but they will still be required to get the shot.

The university changed its vaccination policy yesterday by removing the mandate that students and staff members upload their vaccine cards.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita and a number of lawmakers threatened to block IU’s requirement that everyone get the shot before returning to campus.

IU also announced several exemptions from the vaccine requirement yesterday, including those on religious and certain medical grounds.
