(St. Leon, IN) – Renovations continue at Trojan Field at East Central High School prior to the 2026-27 school year.

The project, which began several months ago, includes a new and improved main entrance, plus upgrades to the concession and restroom facilities.

Project highlights include:

  • Doubling restroom capacity to better accommodate large crowds;
  • A brand-new concession stand designed to improve service and reduce wait times;
  • A new Team Spirit Store;
  • Improved accessibility and a modernized facility.

“Many people have come to our home football games or track meets, or even some of our soccer games that we’ve played there, and noticed that our home side restrooms were not in great shape, and the concession stand was an old pole barn,” said Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Andrew Jackson. “The visitors’ side has this really nice concession and restrooms that were built probably 15, 20 years ago…so it’s nice that our home side will have that, as well.”

In addition to “Friday Night Lights” in the fall, Trojan Field is home to other events throughout the year, such as the Marching Trojans Invitational involving regional high school bands; track and field meets and IHSAA sectional competition; various levels of East Central Middle and High School football; school celebrations, and other important community events.

The upgrades are expected to be complete in time for East Central’s varsity football season opener against Lawrenceburg on August 21.
