Officials of Indy Premier Soccer Club (IPSC) recently announced that on Sunday, June 4, 2017 its U15 Girls Nike Elite team won the 2017 Indiana State Cup. Allison Storms of Batesville, along with fifteen other girls from Columbus, Terre Haute, Yorktown and Noblesville, were part of the State Championship team.
For Storms, who served as the team’s captain it was her third time in being part of a State Cup Championship team. IPSC Coach Kenrick Ramirez commented, “Allison along with her teammates worked very hard over the past few months in preparing for the tournament and the chance to win a State Cup Championship. Their dedication, commitment and desire for improvement helped them win the championship,” commented Ramirez, who coached his third consecutive State Cup Championship team.
The Indiana State Cup is part of US Youth Soccer’s National Championship tournament. IPSC will play in the Region II Championships in Sioux City, South Dakota from June 23-28. The top teams from 14 area states will participate in the Midwest Regional championships.
IPSC is recognized as one of the top soccer clubs in Indiana and will generally field travel teams (Boys and Girls U10-U19) that participate in the Indiana State League and Midwest Regional League, as well as various programs (Boys and Girls U8-U10) for younger kids. Coach Ramirez noted, “This State Cup Championship was especially challenging from a team perspective because many of these kids only began playing together as a team early last winter. We are proud of this achievement and excited about the future and continued development of this group of girls. We are always interested, no matter what their ages, in helping kids develop their soccer skills.”
