(St. Leon, IN) – The Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation is pleased to announce key administrative appointments and a strategic organizational realignment designed to strengthen academic performance while improving operational efficiency.
Dr. Kelly Roth has been named Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, and Mrs. Jamie Shartzer has been appointed Director of Support Services.
Dr. Roth currently serves as the corporation’s Director of Student Services, where she has led important initiatives supporting student achievement, compliance, and specialized programming.
In her new role, Dr. Roth will oversee curriculum, instruction, and professional learning to further align teaching practices with the corporation’s mission.
“Dr. Roth’s leadership has had a direct impact on student success across our schools,” said Dr. Andrew Jackson, Superintendent. “Her transition into this role strengthens our focus on high-quality instruction and continuous improvement.”

Mrs. Jamie Shartzer currently serves as the corporation’s Transportation Director and will continue to oversee transportation services in her new role as Director of Support Services. In addition to transportation, she will lead key operational areas that ensure safe, efficient, and supportive learning environments for students and staff.
“Mrs. Shartzer has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and operational knowledge,” Dr. Jackson shared. “Her expanded role will help ensure continuity and effectiveness across our support services.”
This new administrative structure represents an overall reduction in central office administration, reflecting the corporation’s commitment to fiscal responsibility. The reorganization is designed to maximize efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on student outcomes.
Superintendent Dr. Andrew Jackson will continue to provide leadership on the corporation’s current building project, which is scheduled for completion in October. His oversight ensures continuity and successful execution of this important initiative.
The cost savings associated with this reorganization are in response to reductions in property tax revenues related to recent state legislation. Despite these financial challenges, the corporation
remains committed to strategic investment in teaching and learning.
“This realignment positions us to remain one of the highest-performing academic corporations in Southeast Indiana,” Dr. Jackson noted. “We are aligning our resources to support both fiscal
responsibility and academic excellence.”
These changes take effect on July 1, 2026.
