First responders at National Night Out
The event gives children and families a chance to meet local first responders.

The free event is designed to bring residents together with local and state first responders, military members and community organizations in a relaxed setting outside of an emergency.

Organizers say National Night Out gives residents — particularly children — an opportunity to meet the people who serve their community, learn about their work and develop positive relationships with public-safety personnel.

The evening also serves as a chance to recognize first responders and military members for their service.
