(Batesville, IN) — Margaret Mary Health is donating $50,000 to help Franklin County recover from devastating flooding.
The money will go to the Franklin County Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, which is assisting with immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts.
“Like many across our community, we have been deeply saddened by the devastating flooding that has impacted Franklin County and surrounding areas,” Margaret Mary Health President and CEO Liz Leising said. “Our thoughts are with everyone who has experienced loss, damage or disruption during this difficult time.”
Leising said the contribution is intended to help families as they begin rebuilding.
“In times like these, supporting one another matters more than ever,” she said. “While no donation can undo the loss and devastation so many families have experienced, we hope these funds help ease some of the burden and provide support as they begin the difficult journey of rebuilding their homes and lives.”
Margaret Mary Health team members are also taking part in local relief and recovery efforts throughout the affected communities.
The Batesville-based health system said the donation reflects its commitment to supporting southeastern Indiana communities during times of need.
Margaret Mary Health is a not-for-profit, critical-access hospital serving more than 65,000 residents in Ripley, Franklin and surrounding counties. The health system employs nearly 800 people and provides inpatient and outpatient care, oncology, rehabilitation, orthopedic services and primary and minor care.
