Match #2 Green
field-Central: L (22-25, 10-25) Our strong play follow on in Set one against Greenfield-Central. The Host Cougars had a very tall and athletic team and gave us fits hitting the line over our block. We were playing a great first set seeing in system digs off the block and converting for points, yet the cougars found the way to separate late in the set for the win. Moving into set two the point we were converting earlier were not happening. It messed with our confidence, and carried forward into our serve receive game. While this was our fifth straight set in unconventional heat, we still did not perform to the level of competing with the cougars.Match #3 New Haven: W (15-25, 25-23, 15-3) Sitting after the lunch break did not help us at all to compose any semblance of team. In set one we had only two girls in the positive hitting numbers and had already served a match worth of missed serves. However the girls were able to regain composure and build their momentum to a high efficient finish. Audrey Amberger #8 finished hitting .500 with 7 kills on 14 errorless swings.
Match #4 Daleville: W (25-21, 25-19) Still warm from the New Haven match, we got down to business early and established a buffer of points. We never let them get within this buffer holding a lead, and serving very aggressive for the fourth match in 6 hours. Morgan Batchelor #4 was 6 kills on 15 errorless attempts.Jenna Ertel was selected as one of the ten girls for
The Greenfield-Central Cougar Challenge All Tournament team For the day Jenna had 6 Aces on 43 serves and only 2 errors. She was a staple in serve receive passing 45 times with only 3 mistakes, and carried 34 digs.Tuesday
