(Dearborn County, IN) – Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens has called this past weekend a horrendous one for local families, first responders, and others.

In addition to the wreck on Friday evening along State Road 350 that claimed the lives of Jordan and Sierra Walters, two women from Cincinnati died in a head-on crash early Sunday morning on U.S. 52/Harrison-Brookville Road in the northern part of the county.

The Walters’ two sons – ages 6 and 4 – were hospitalized but have been since been released and are staying with family.

Several others were injured in both crashes.

Deddens took to social media to urge you to slow down, stay alert, never drive impaired, and make safe choices every time you get behind the wheel.

Portions of her statement can be read below:

“This has been a horrendous weekend for local families, firefighters, first responders, dispatchers, coroners and law enforcement in Dearborn County.

“Two separate crashes have claimed the lives of four people.

“As these investigations continue, we ask everyone to keep the victims, their families, and all those affected in your thoughts and prayers. This is also a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly lives can change on our roadways. Please slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, never drive impaired, and make safe choices every time you get behind the wheel.”
