Mason McNew was honored at Monday night’s South Ripley School Board meeting for being selected the Ohio River Valley Conference Mental Attitude Award winner in baseball.
He is a recent South Ripley High School graduate who played first base, shortstop and pitched this past season for the Raiders of head coach Brian Smith.
The ORVC Mental Attitude Award is voted on by opposing coaches around the conference.
McNew plans to continue his academic and athletic pursuits at Trine University in Angola, IN.
