Decatur County REMC CEO Brett Abplanalp says PowerStream Fiber internet installation has been a success.

“Today, we have about 400, close to 450 new members signed up for that,” Abplanalp said. “We’re waiting on our application, or basically, our contract from the state to get going on Phase 2, which we’re being told, we’ll see that in the next week. So really good things are going on there.”

The first phase of the PowerStream Fiber installation in Decatur and Ripley counties is targeted for completion this September.

The electric co-op also awarded scholarships to Julia Meyer, Avalyn Stricker, and Catherine Bradshaw (pictured).
