Ilene Cleona Schwier, 92, of Indianapolis passed away on October 19, 2020. She was born on June 2, 1928 in Decatur County, the daughter of Ralph and Mayme (Koenigkramer) Miller. Ilene attended New Point High School and was in restaurant management most of her working life. She married Henry L. Schwier on April 22, 1948 and together they raised eight children. Henry preceded her in death on April 13, 1991. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: Sons, Rev. Steven (Kathy) Schwier, George (Darlene) Schwier; Daughters, Sharon (Arthur) Richardson, Janet Jessup, Edna (Mark) Rauch, Sandra Lacefield; Sister, Eleanor Huey; 18 Grandchildren; Many, many Great Grandchildren; and Friend of 20 years, Jim Gaetano. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband Henry Schwier; Son, Paul Schwier; Daughter, Diana Payne; Brothers, Delbert Miller and Mervin Miller; Sister, Irene Kunz.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Her Son, Rev. Steven Schwier will be officiating.
