Gas tax revenues up for ’18

Batesville, In. — Southeastern Indiana municipalities are expecting more gas tax revenue this year following a 10-cent increase in 2018.

The gas tax revenue for each county is determined by using a formula of miles of county roads and cars registered (not pickup trucks).

For Franklin County officials say it will mean about $900,000 in additional road maintenance money.

Indiana House Bill 1002 was passed by the 2017 General Assembly and is expected to raise more than $6 billion over the next seven years for infrastructure improvements.
