(Franklin County, IN) – Franklin County Commissioners have lifted the countywide burn ban, effective this morning.
The order was issued last week because of dry conditions and other factors that put the county at risk of widespread fire hazards.
Rain moved through Southeastern Indiana Friday morning, and cooler temperatures are expected this weekend.
Off-and-on rain is predicted during the early part of Thanksgiving week.

(Franklin County, IN) – Franklin County Commissioners have issued a countywide burn ban, which is in effect until further notice.
Ongoing windy and drought-like conditions that put the county at risk of widespread fire hazards prompted commissioners to order the ban Wednesday afternoon.
Open burning, the burning of debris, and campfires and other recreational fires – unless in an enclosed fire ring – are prohibited during the emergency situation.
