First Report (Friday 5:00 a.m.)

A home invasion and fatal shooting claimed the life of Milan resident Nancy Hershman in December 2012.

Her family may soon get justice as the second of three defendants is expected to plead guilty Friday morning.

Daniel Hodge, 17, of Ohio, is expected to enter a guilty plea of Burglary of a Dwelling Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Class A felony).

On Thursday, Ripley County Prosecutor Ric Hertel said Hodge has agreed to serve a 50-year sentence, with 13 years suspended.

The prosecutor added the defense can still withdraw the plea Friday.

Hodge is the second teenage defendant in the case whose trial was moved to adult court. Sean David Nichols,16, pleaded guilty to the same charge in January 2014.

The murder trial of the third suspect, Allison Moore, 23, has yet to begin after a judge ruled the statements she gave to detectives occurred without them reading her rights.

If an appeal filed by prosecutors is unsuccessful any information investigators received will not be allowed in trial.
