UPDATE: Man found dead in Brownstown identified

BROWNSTOWN, IN — The identity of a man found dead in a vehicle on Sunday on South Main Street in Brownstown has been confirmed as that of 49-year-old Jason H. Noel of Scipio (Jennings County).

Indiana State Police say Noel was found unresponsive in a vehicle at approximately 2:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.

Brownstown Police officers and other emergency personnel arrived and attempted to provide medical aid.

Noel was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death.

The results of the autopsy, as well as toxicology results, are still pending. However, foul play is not suspected.

Detectives with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post have been assisted in this investigation by the Brownstown Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, and Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

BROWNSTOWN, IN — Detectives with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post began conducting a death investigation after an adult male was found dead in a vehicle in Brownstown on Sunday.

At approximately 2:30 pm, the Brownstown Police Department responded to a call of an unresponsive man in a vehicle near 917 South Main Street.

Officers responded and located the man in a vehicle parked along the street near the residence.

Jackson County EMS and the Brownstown Fire Department also responded to provide medical aid.

It was soon determined that the adult male had already passed away.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon to determine the cause of death.

The identity of the deceased is also expected to be released Monday following confirmation and the family is notified.

Indiana State Police Detectives are being assisted in the ongoing investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Brownstown Police Department, and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
