South Dearborn High School improvements stopped

AURORA, Ind. — The petition and remonstrance race for improvements at South Dearborn High School is over, and for now, the project has been stopped.

Officials say there were 1932 signatures against the $9.76 million project versus 1481 in favor.

The project was going to add an artificial turf athletic field and a new activity building and improve as well as expand the high school auditorium, natatorium, water tower graphics, signage, flooring, and lighting.

Under Indiana State Law, the school must wait at least another year before considering a similar project at the high school.
