AUSTIN, IN — Approximately 2,205 pounds of Skyline Chili products are being recalled by Morgan Foods due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says the product contains milk, wheat, and soy, which are known allergens and are not declared on the product label.

The cans labeled as chili products may actually contain cream of chicken soup and were produced on December 21, 2021.

The following product is subject to recall:

• 10.5 oz. cans containing “Skyline CHILI ORIGINAL CHILI” with a lot code “L2121”, product code “CHC8T UPY” on the bottom of the can, and a “Best By” date of December 21, 2023.

The labels can be viewed here.

The cans are packed in trays marked as “Skyline Original Chili” with an expiration date of December 21, 2024.

The product subject to recall bears the establishment number “EST. 6806” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered by consumers who reported to the Austin, Indiana-based company that the cans labeled as chili contained cream of chicken soup.
