Edna Marie Pieper, 97, of Milan passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Ripley Crossing in Milan with her loving family by her side. Edna was born on Saturday, March 8, 1924 in Ripley County; daughter of John and Ernestine (Vinup) Westmeyer. Edna married Irvin Pieper on April 6, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1979. Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro and a member of the Milan Ladies Auxiliary. Edna was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing and had a love for music. She enjoyed her dog, watching college basketball and the Reds games on TV. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family.
Edna will be missed by her son John (Carolyn) Pieper of Milan, Indiana and daughter Bonnie (James) Whaley of West Carrollton, Ohio; grandchildren Megan (Scott) Schaefer, Todd Whaley, Jodi Whaley, Chad Whaley, Corey (Angela) Pieper, and Amanda (Ricky Jr) Andrew; and great-grandchildren Sydnee, Chloe, Cady, Max, and Sophie.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ernestine; husband Irvin; brother Everett Westmeyer; sisters Ethel Rosengarn and Helen Niebrugge; and infant grandson Blaine Pieper.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Edna from 12:00-1:00 PM on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9901 Central Ave., Dillsboro, IN 47018. A service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Richard Kolaskey officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery.
