Indiana, 20 other states file federal mask mandate lawsuit

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indiana and 20 other states have filed a lawsuit over the federal mask mandate that remains in effect at public transportation hubs around the country.

The lawsuit claims the mask mandate on airplanes and in airports, among other places, is an abuse of federal emergency power.

The Biden Administration’s order is currently set to expire on April 18.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita says the rule violates individual freedom.

“There’s no good reason the feds should mandate masks at public transportation hubs and on commercial planes, buses, trains, ships, and other vehicles,” Attorney General Rokita said. “This rule belongs in the same ash heap to which we have consigned the other overreaching measures we have successfully challenged.”

There’s been no comment from either the Centers for Disease Control or the Transportation Security Administration in response to the suit.
