“Pat has been and continues to be a role model for community engagement,” according to the nomination letters. “Pat Smith’s profession as a journalist for 40 years at the Greensburg Daily News has peaked our interests and inspired us to know more about local history, the service of our brave Veterans, organizations and individuals making a positive difference, and the list is endless. The nominees should also follow the Rotary 4-way Test, which states: “Of the things we think, say and do: First, is it the truth; second, is it fair to all concerned; third, will it build goodwill and better friendships; and fourth, will it be beneficial to all concerned.
