Glenn E. Moore, 88, of Batesville, formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born at Jackson in Breathitt County, Kentucky on February 28, 1938, the son of Price and Maudie Taulbee Moore. He was married to Matilda Riehle and she preceded him in death on December 19, 2001. Survivors include three sons Terry (Lisa) Moore of Dillsboro, Ronnie Moore of Mishawaka, and David Moore of Jasper; one daughter Monica Begley of Rising Sun; four grandchildren Terry Moore, Jr., Talisa Baugh, and Michael and Thomas Waller; 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers Les (Erlinda) Moore of Boise, Idaho, Rev. Dan (Mona) Moore of Springfield, Ohio, and Ben (Rosie) Moore of Aurora; four sisters Betty Dickerson of Lawrenceburg, Jeanie Bascish of Wichita Falls, Texas, Debbie Stamper of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Vickie Standish of Greendale. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Timothy, daughter Diane, and his brother Price Moore, Jr. Mr. Moore was a 1955 graduate of Guilford High School and attended Mt. St. Joe College in Cincinnati. On July 11, 1956 he entered the US Army and served as an SP 4 with the 60th Artillery Battalion. He was discharged on July 10, 1959, qualified as a marksman and received the Good Conduct Medal. In civilian life Glenn worked as an electrician with Monsanto for 17 years and retired from Seagram’s where he worked as a machinist for 20 years. Glenn was well known in the Aurora-Lawrenceburg area where he coached junior high football at Lawrenceburg and helped establish the Pee Wee football League in Aurora. He also was an IHSAA official in football and basketball. Glenn was a former member of the Lawrenceburg Lions Club. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24 at 12 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Glenn’s brother Rev. Dan Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Visitation will also be on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to South Dearborn Pee Wee Football in care of the funeral home.
