
Clifford F. Selke of Palm Coast, Florida, better known as Ding to his friends and family, passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 98. He was born on August 24, 1927, in Batesville, Indiana, to Matilda Bergman Selke and Frank Selke.
After graduating from Batesville High School, Clifford joined the Merchant Marines. He later worked for Texas Eastern Oil Company for 42 years. He retired at age 62 and spent much of his time traveling the United States and beyond.
In 1949, he married Jacquelyn Brunner (Jackie), and together they shared 49 wonderful years. After Jackie’s passing, Clifford was blessed to meet and fall in love with Sara MacIsaac. They were together for 24 years and made a wonderful home in Florida. They continued to travel and enjoyed life with their cats, Felicia and Spirit.
Clifford loved country music, playing cards, shooting pool, traveling in his RV, and happy hour. He enjoyed life to the fullest until his passing.
He is survived by his partner, Sara MacIsaac of Palm Coast, Florida; daughters Dani Hewitt and her husband, Don, of Hope, Indiana, and Randi Selke and her partner, Tim Mansfield, of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren Matt Hewitt and his wife, Heather, of Forest Park, Illinois, Josh Hewitt and his wife, Daya, of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Crystal Seib and her husband, Tim, of Fairview, Texas; great-grandchildren Hudson and Hadley Hewitt; and grand-puppy Pipa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; his parents; his son, David Selke; his grandson, Jason Selke; and his sisters, Irma Dorrell and Marcella Henneke.
Visitation will be held at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 St. Rd. 46 E., Batesville, Indiana, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Adams Church Cemetery.
