Meanwhile, a number of residents and property owners who would be affected by the project’s 10 proposed route alternatives are speaking out against the plan.
The group known as “Stop Link 101” states several reasons for their opposition, including loss of property; construction of a new roadway when the current ones need repairs; the transformation of the area into suburbs, and increased traffic, among other issues.
The group is urging residents against the project to contact their county commissioners and county councilmembers plus local state senators and representatives and respectfully voice their opposition.
A number of people spoke out against the project at last week’s in-person open house meetings in Aurora and Vevay.
