Betty L. Mericle, 85, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away on July 11, 2026.
Betty was born on August 27, 1940, in Milan, Indiana, to Robert Lloyd and Alta Ruth (Baker) Daugherty.
Betty dedicated many years to caring for others. She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Houston in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and later at Westside Pediatrics in Bright, Indiana. Beyond her professional career, Betty was a devoted caregiver to her family and many others, always offering compassion and support to those around her.
She is survived by her brother, Wayne (Lynne) Daugherty; her sister, Pat (Bob) Yelton; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alta Daugherty; her beloved husband, Clifford “Butch” Mericle; her cherished children, James, Jason, and Jana Mericle; her twin brother, Gene “Buck” Daugherty; her brothers, James Daugherty and Johnie Daugherty; and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Morehead.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation, with burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
