Mary Ann Hofer, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Brookville, Indiana, on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born April 1, 1935, in New Alsace, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late John & Helen Seubert. On October 12, 1957 she was united in marriage to Alfred ‘Bud’ Hofer, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2012.
She was retired from Sperry Rubber where she had worked for many years.
Mary Ann belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella, St. Catherine Circle, in Brookville. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. A hardworking woman, she took great pride in all she did.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Schuck and Karen (Joe) Steinmetz all of Brookville, Indiana; three grandchildren, April Theis, Heidi Dewig, Jonathan Steinmetz; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Seubert Walker of New Alsace, Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bud, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Back & Margaret Westerfeld; as well as a brother, Joe Seubert.
Family & friends may visit from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Santhosh Yohannan will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, 10:30 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 E. St. Michael’s Blvd., Brookville. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
