(Decatur County, IN) – County Road 250 West between Base and Vandalia roads in Decatur County has reopened.
The road was closed from May 30 until yesterday for the annual Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVO) training.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media, “Thank you to the citizens of Decatur County for your patience so we are able to provide essential training for our officers.”
The sessions are state-mandated and are held locally instead of sending first responders to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield which, officials say, saves the county money.
The training is conducted around the clock and while law enforcement officers are on duty.
Police from jurisdictions throughout the county plus EMTs took part in the EVO training.
