Community garden harvest to be celebrated in Laurel Thursday evening

Laurel, IN — Franklin County Purdue Extension is inviting the public to celebrate the first season of the community gardens in the county.

The first garden harvest in Laurel will be celebrated Thursday evening from 6-8 at the Laurel branch of the Franklin County Public Library.

The free event will feature information stations, refreshments, and activities including a bounce house for the kids, as well as a visit from local first responders.

It’s sponsored by Purdue Extension, the Franklin County Public Library District, and Growing Laurel.

Purdue Extension will also hold a Growing Together Garden Celebration in Brookville on September 27 from 4-7 pm at Lew Wallace Park near the county government center.
