Decatur/Ripley Counties, IN — Four Republican candidates have filed for three At-Large seats on Greensburg City Council.
Jason Dwenger turned in paperwork last week, joining current District 2 councilmember Vietta McKenzie, Mark Carman, and Daryl Tressler in the field of candidates.
They’ll square off in the May 2 primary for the right to advance to the November ballot.
Meantime, current Council President and Board of Works member Jamie Cain has filed for re-election in District 3.
Other Republicans recently filing paperwork for this year’s elections in Decatur County include Cassandra Nicole Jenkins for St. Paul Town Clerk-Treasurer, plus Beth Pigmon and Harry Pray the 3rd for Westport Town Council.
And Erin White has filed on the Democratic ticket for St. Paul Town Council.
As for the Batesville city election, only three filings had taken place as of late last week – all on the Republican side.
John Irrgang has filed to run for Mayor, while incumbent Paul Gates is running again for Clerk-Treasurer, and Melissa Tucker has filed to run for a full term for the Batesville City Council At-Large seat.
The filing deadline is Friday, February 3 at Noon.
