Norman David Burkhart, 80, Greensburg

Norman David Burkhart, 80, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at The Waters of Batesville.

Norman was born on May 26, 1946, in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of David and Catherine (Artmeier) Burkhart. He spent the majority of his life farming, a vocation that was much more than a career—it was his passion. Norman loved being on the farm and found great satisfaction in caring for the land he called home.

A faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Norman was a kind and quiet man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He could often be found mowing the grass, watching the world go by, discussing politics, or cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Cincinnati Reds. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, strong work ethic, and the quiet presence he brought to those around him.

Norman is survived by his sisters, Lucille “Lucy” Meyer, Anna (Paul) Buening, Mary (Denny) Summers, and Dottie Burkhart; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Maurice “George” Burkhart; and his brother-in-law, Norman Meyer.

Family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1331 E. Hunter Robbins Way, Greensburg, Indiana. Visitation will follow from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greensburg.
