Carol Wesseler

Carol Ann Nusekabel Wesseler, 80 years old of New Alsace, passed away Monday morning, August 28, 2023. A native of Bridgetown, Carol moved to New Alsace when she married Aloysius on May 5, 1962. Carol met Aloysius at a dance in E-Town and they continued their love for dancing after marriage, attending local dances every weekend. Carol was a teacher for the Head Start program and went to students’ homes to work with them. Later Carol worked for the IRS as a criminal investigator and tax examiner. In order to qualify as a criminal investigator, Carol had to be investigated herself and traveled to Quantico for training, all of which seemed very daunting.

Carol enjoyed listening to country music and she and Aloysius took several trips to Little Nashville after they won tickets from a local radio station. She was a member of St. Paul’s since her marriage in 1962. During the parish summer festivals, Carol made pineapple upside down cake and volunteered as a cake cutter.

Carol will be deeply missed by her children Katie (Chuck) Hazelwood, Tom Wesseler, and Jerry (Sabrina) Wesseler; grandchildren Nichole Zelek, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Hazelwood, Kevin (Alexa) Wesseler, Justin Wesseler, Keith Wesseler, and Brent (Elizabeth) Wesseler; great grandchildren Wyatt, Claire, Ethan, Carter, Wesley,  Wilder, Oakley, Adelaide, Finley, Grayson, and Marilyn; siblings Jim Nusekabel and Edward “Bud” Nusekabel Jr.. Carol is preceded in death by her spouse Aloysius Wesseler, parents Aurelia & Edward Nusekable and siblings Laverne, Ginny, Joan, and Ruth.
