The following are boys high school basketball recaps from Friday, February 25 (varsity games unless noted otherwise).  There may be updates, so please check back.

Greensburg was a 51-43 winner over East Central. The Pirates gained separation during a 14-3 second quarter.

A consolation prize of sorts for the Trojans was they held the Pirates to 46 percent shooting (17/37). It is a rarity for Greensburg to shoot under 50 percent at home.
While the Pirates overall shooting was down, Greensburg did get it done at the line making 12-of-15. East Central was 3-of-6.

The Pirate defense did a nice job checking the Trojan shooters at 31 percent (16/47).

Dakota Walters led Greensburg with 16 points, Brenden Stanley scored 12, Ky Dyer tallied 10 and Colin Comer contributed nine. Stanley had a team-high seven rebounds and Comer’s four assists were also a team best.

On the East Central side of the ledger, Carson Pieczonka and Caleb Mergenthal both booked eight points. Ryan Selhorst scored seven and had a team-high five boards. Cooper Hoog had four caroms, four assists and chipped in five points.

South Decatur beat Knightstown 77-55. The Cougars pulled away during a 23-11 fourth quarter.

Hunter Johnson’s 39 points and 19 rebounds led the way. He also had four steals. Jacob Scruggs scored 20 plus posted seven assists and six steals. And Evan Wullenweber logged 11 points.

North Decatur won 59-50 at Rushville.  It was ND’s sixth straight win.

Leading scorers for the Chargers included Kaden Muckerheide with 21 points, Carson Parmer and Lance Nobbe with 10 each along with Blake Spears with eight.

The North Decatur reserves won 59-27.

Cooper Parmer and Brayden Hancock both tallied 10 points for the Charger JV. Teammates Cole Davis and Brady Mauer contributed eight each.

Milan lost in overtime to Union County in Liberty 66-58. The Indians came back in the final minute of regulation to force overtime. The game was tied on a triple by Caiden Yorn. However, the Patriots took control of the extra session and won by eight.

Ben Riehle led Milan with 19 points, Yorn followed with 16 and Landon Morgan added seven.

We thank everyone who contributed to the recaps.
