Indiana’s highest-paid private college presidents

INDIANAPOLIS – The Chronicle for Higher Education is releasing 2012 salaries of private college presidents in Indiana and across the nation.

University of Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins had the highest compensation in Indiana at $830,119. It ranks as the 54th highest in the nation.

Other presidents topping the list for Indiana private colleges include Butler University President James Danko at $490,267; DePauw University President Brian Casey at $487,972; Valparaiso University President Mark Heckler with $394,817; and President of Earlham College John David Dawson at $356,260.

According to the data, the highest-paid private college president in the nation was Shirley Jackson, president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Jackson reportedly took home $7.1 million in 2012.
