(Greensburg, IN) — Greensburg has a new voice guiding how the city talks to its residents — and she’s not new to the community she’ll be serving.
Mayor Joshua Marsh announced Monday that Leah Kane has been hired as the city’s new Communications Director, a role that puts her in charge of keeping residents informed on news, events and services while providing executive-level support at City Hall.

Kane will start Monday, July 13. She’ll oversee the city’s communication strategy and work to strengthen ties between city departments and the community through what officials describe as clear, consistent and engaging messaging.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for Kane, who has deep roots in Greensburg’s business community. Most recently, she worked as Marketing Specialist for Joyner Homes. Before that, she spent time as Marketing Administrator for the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, where she supported local businesses and helped drive outreach efforts across the county.
Originally from Rushville, Kane has called Greensburg home for eight years. She’s stayed active in the community as President of the Arts & Cultural Council of Decatur County and has volunteered with the Tree City Fall Festival’s marketing committee.
“I’m honored to join the City of Greensburg and have the opportunity to serve the community I proudly call home. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed helping businesses and organizations tell their stories and connect with the people they serve.”

Marsh said Kane’s background made her a natural fit for the job.
“Leah’s work in the private sector, the GDC Chamber, and other organizations makes her well-rounded and well-suited to help lead communications for the City of Greensburg. I look forward to introducing her to our community even further through her role as our Communications Director.”
