(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) raised $1,880 for local school athletic programs through a series of sports physical events held in May.
A total of 94 students from Greensburg, North and South Decatur high schools and St. Mary’s attended the events.
All proceeds were distributed back to the schools, with each school’s portion supporting its athletic program.
The sports physical events provided students with a convenient opportunity to complete a required step for athletic participation while also benefiting their school.
These events were made possible through the volunteer efforts of DCMH providers and staff, committed to supporting the health and well-being of local students.
Participating providers included Dr. Mary McCullough, Dr. Noel Mungcal, Dr. Jami Rayles, Dr. Krystle Roberts, Dr. Isaiah Steffen, Dr. Scott Washburn, Dr. Amanda Williams, Brianna Daeger, FNP-C, Kelly Miller, FNP-C, Natasha Struewing, WHNP, and Shelly Walsman, NP (pictured).
“The sports physical events are a wonderful example of how DCMH supports the health of our students and the strength of our community,” said Laura Walsman, Director of Practice Operations at DCMH. “Students receive an affordable, convenient sports physical, and the proceeds go right back into their school’s athletic programs.”
In addition to the providers who completed physicals, numerous DCMH team members volunteered their time to assist with registration, coordination, and event support, helping ensure a positive experience for students and families.
DCMH says it’s proud to partner with local schools to support student health, encourage athletic participation, and give back to the community.
